Saturday morning, four of the area’s best beach bands will descend on The Farm - bringing all the beach with a little less sand. At noon, make sure to catch The Embers - a legendary beach band who have been touring since 1958 and have helped shape the genre for the past fifty years. At 1:30, The Farm welcomes Band of Oz, another staple in beach music history. The Beach Music Hall of Famers picked up around 1960 and have been churning out infectiously sweet summer tunes for decades.
Following Oz is North Carolina native Jim Quick and his band The Coastline. Quick grew up in the swamps of eastern NC and explored his love of music as a radio DJ at a local AM radio station. His fanbase are known as “coastline-crazies” and perhaps you too will get get swept up in the waves of Quick’s music.
Tying the afternoon together is The Entertainers band. Founded in 1980, the Entertainers have achieved wide success by blending southern beach and R&B with top 40 hits, rock and country.
