This is the first in the new "Notes From an Intern" series in which the Deep South Entertainment interns give notes, advice, and tidbits about the goings on at Deep South Entertainment, their thoughts and their experiences!
Kathryn Covington is one of Deep South's Fall interns. She is a senior at NC State studying Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management with a Program Management Concentration. She is also minoring in Journalism.
This is part one of three in which Kathryn discusses some of the acts that will be playing at the State Fair in just two weeks! From Kathryn's mouth to this page...
As an intern at Deep South Entertainment I was thrilled to learn about their production of the NC State Fair Homegrown Music Fest. This event includes so many talented artists from all over the state.
The location of the Fair and the music series is another bonus. I love that it’s just a short drive up the street from campus, plus you can walk right in to Dorton Arena with your state fair admission ticket.
One of the concerts that I can’t wait to see is Parmalee with OSMR in Dorton Arena on Oct. 14. As a loyal listener to the radio I hear Parmalee played often. They have such a unique sound that I am anxious to get to hear live. Their tight knit group is something special that I am excited to experience. This concert is a great opportunity to see the band in person for free!
Deep South and the State Fair have given all of the fair attendees the opportunity to see this awesome group as well as several more at such a convenience you wouldn’t want to miss out.
There you have it! Words right from our intern Kathryn. Look out for Kathryn's other notes on the music at the fair to be posted next week!
