Meet the Judges

FOX 50’S THE X FACTOR AUDITIONS are back for a third season, giving local singers and groups the chance to win one-of-four guaranteed auditions with the producers of THE X FACTOR, a talent showcase with Deep South Entertainment and a demo produced by Osceola Studios!

This year FOX 50’s THE X FACTOR AUDITION will be at CRABTREE VALLEY MALL on SATURDAY, APRIL 27. Registration starts at 8:00am at the Center Court/H&M entrance (lower level) of Crabtree Valley Mall.  Hopefuls may begin lining up at 6:00am (sorry, no camping out allowed).

Auditions are open to local solo singers and groups 12 years old and up! To audition, you must meet all eligibility requirements and download the official rules & local registration form at www.FOX50.com.

FOX 50 will announce four winners, one from each of these categories: Boys (12-24), Girls (12-24), Over 25 and Groups. Each category winner will receive a guaranteed audition with the producers of THE X FACTOR in Denver, Colorado, a talent showcase with Deep South Entertainment and a demo produced by Osceola Studios.

FOX 50’s THE X FACTOR AUDITION judges include Deep South President Dave Rose, Founder/Owner of Kids Unlimited Talent Agency Terry Dollar, K97.5’s Shena J and country music recording artist Jason Michael Carroll.

The video, directed by Royce Marcus and produced by Deep South Entertainment, was a reward to Roux for placing first in Deep South’s Annual Open Mic Contest in September 2012. The bar hosts Open Mic Nights every Tuesday at 8 p.m. and was voted Best Open Mic Night in the Triangle by the readers of Independent Weekly.

When asked about the experience, Sean Roux shared, “It was a huge blessing of Deep South and Royce Marcus Films to have the opportunity to create a legitimate music video that contextually supports the 2012 Letters release. The creative collective of Royce Marcus’ crew captured the essence of my album’s vibe perfectly. It was an amazing experience that I look forward to repeating with the next video.”

Deep South opened in 2007 and is a live music bar open seven nights a week. The bar is an extension of Deep South Entertainment, a record label, artist management firm, talent agency, and concert production company with offices in Raleigh, NC and Nashville, TN.

Deep South Entertainment has signed and managed the careers of Grammy-winning and Billboard-charting artists such as Five for Fighting, Butch Walker, Sister Hazel, Marcy Playground, and Bruce Hornsby. Deep South is also known for producing some of North Carolina’s biggest events including Downtown Live, Raleigh Wide Open, and the NC Governor’s Inaugural Ball.

Tennessee East is jointly owned by Dave Rose, president of Deep South Entertainment, and Kevin Frazier, owner of City Limits Saloon in Raleigh and Wilmington. Frazier, a well-respected venue owner, possesses more than 15 years of experience and will serve as president to lead the management group’s operations.

“I’m honored to be working alongside two people who I have respected in this business for many years: Jason Michael Carroll as one of the greatest singer-songwriters to come out of North Carolina, and Dave Rose who has managed some of the most respected artists in the business,” says Frazier.

Tennessee East is preparing for Carroll’s first radio single release since 2011, “Close Enough,” impacting radio this spring. He hits the road this summer with more than 75 tour dates on the books for 2013. Plans to releases a live DVD later this year are also in the works.

Carroll rose to fame when his first album Waitin’ In the Country produced three Top 40 hits including “Alyssa Lies,” “Livin’ Our Love Song,” and “I Can Sleep When I’m Dead.” All three of Carroll’s albums have charted on the Billboard Top 200, with his debut record soaring to No. 1.
